A bit more about Maddie:
Maddie Burnham is a Modern dance artist and choreographer from Victoria, Minnesota. She fell in love with modern dance at the age of 16 when Sue Gunness brought in professor Melissa Rolick to teach a MEISA class at the studio. She knew, there and then, that she was destined to be a dancer and choreographer. Maddie went on to Gustavus Adolphus College where she dove head-first into the dance program there. She took every moment she had to give her as many opportunities as possible. She performed at ACDA all four years at Gustavus, with her last year showcasing a piece she created. After college, she didn’t want dance to stop, or take the time to search for a company that he belonged in, so she decided to create her own company. The birth of 8:20 Dance Company in 2019 was the saving grace she needed as an artist. She collaborated with fellow students at Gustavus, and since then has created 15+ works with the company. She recently moved back from Orlando, FL where she taught at Skyra Studios and Underground Movement. Maddie is a go-getter that just seems to not sit still. If she cannot find dance somewhere, she will create it. In all of her work, Maddie believes that dance is the most purest form of communication as well as a personal source of therapy.
