Ballet 3: This 60-minute class will focus on ballet technique. Dancers will learn terminology, and class structure and work on the fundamentals of ballet. Dancers will grow as informed movers and develop their artistic skills.

Ballet 4/5: This 90-minute class meets twice a week. Students are required to take both classes. As their level increases, they do more difficult movements that require strength and proper alignment. The dancers will work on furthering their understanding of ballet and growing as artists. This class is treated as a pre-pointe class. This structure for Ballet 4 will help the dancers be better prepared when moving up to Ballet 5 and feel strong on pointe. When moved up to Ballet 5, dancers should be prepared to be on pointe.

Ballet Strengthening: This class is required for all summer Ballet students in Levels 4, 5, and 6. Ballet 3 students are welcome, but it is not required. Come and take a 30-minute strengthening class. Dancers will learn to build strength in the muscles they use daily for ballet class. This will help with overall growth and technique within their Ballet Classes. They will also build stamina, which is handy in dance as a whole. Instructors will alternate throughout the summer between Miss Shelby and Miss Maddie.

Ballet 6: This 90-minute class meets two times a week. Students are required to take both classes. Students need to be at least 13 years old and have strong techniques. They will do pointe work in this class. The instructors will let the students know when they are ready to get pointe shoes. In this class, students will continue to grow into advanced pre-professional dancers. They will continue to work on improving their technique and artistic expression as well.

In this Modern Combo class, dancers will get the opportunity to learn from multiple instructors this summer. They will learn from owners Melissa & Maddie, along with new instructor Philip Hommes! This will keep the class new and exciting each week over the summer.

Classes led by Melissa: Dancers will learn modern dance techniques, floor work, and improvisational skills. They will learn how to use movement to express themselves. Students will explore how to move fully and safely, with an emphasis on anatomy and proper technique.

Classes led by Philip: Dancers will work with multiple aspects of movement quality, including directional shifts, textures, and a range of dynamic qualities through a contemporary movement style with a variety of genre influences while being encouraged to develop individual artistic voices within a group setting.

Classes led by Maddie: Dancers should expect to expand their knowledge of movement, grow more intellectually as a mover, and learn innovative ways to move in and out of the floor. With a focus on continuum, her class aims for the continuity of the kinetic chains of movement, its path, and a very specific and uncommon way to use momentum, impulse, space, motion script, and physical principles.
